Suggested time: 30–90 minutes
A speech or essay that praises a person is known as a eulogy. People are most often eulogized at their funerals or retirement parties.
Write a eulogy for someone, living or dead, that you know well and admire. Begin by listing your happy memories of that person. Then list all the traits you admire in them, and think of any stories that exemplify those traits. Use humor if it’s appropriate, but keep in mind that you’ll get a chance to roast someone in the next challenge, “Roast and Toast.”
End your eulogy with one strong sentence that can stand alone and that summarizes all that is commendable about the person.
