With iambic pentameter, each line has five iambs. Say out loud “duh DUH, duh DUH, duh DUH, duh DUH, duh DUH” to hear the rhythm.
Here’s a line from Shakespeare in iambic pentameter: “But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?”
