Write a design document for any project in your field, such as web site, video, or 3D animation. Include a storyboard (rough abstract images) to help your audience visualize web pages or scenes or characters. Remember that design documents are useful tools to help organize a multimedia project and can be effective for presenting the ideas and design to a client or production team.
You might include:
- the design objective (what are you trying to accomplish? What is the communication goal)? the target audience
- the delivery platform (i.e., the Web)
- rough visualizations of proposed screens or scenes
- a description of the navigation or flow of scenes, for web sites
- a description or flow chart of subtopics, for web sites
- a description of major multimedia elements
- a description of scenes, dialogue and camera movements for video or 3D animations
- post-production effects
